Vehicle crime in your area

Good morning,

South Wales Police have been made aware of recent vehicle crime in the Bedlinog area. Enquries are currently ongoing for the reported incidents in both Bedlinog and Trelewis.

As part of the response to the incidents, your local neighbourhood team are urging all residents to take action to protect your vehicles and help prevent yourself from becoming a victim of this type of crime.

With most vehicle crime being opportunistic, following the simple steps below could prevent this happening to you.

On leaving your vehicle:

Lock doors, windows, the boot and sunroof every time you leave the vehicle, however briefly this may be.

Keep your keys in a safe place at home, away from windows and doors and preferably in a locked cupboard or cabinet.

For keyless entry vehicles, put keys in a secure signal-blocking pouch, such as a faraday bag.

Don't leave valuables, phones, bags, coats or any money on display.

Where possible, park in safe, well-lit areas.

Where possible, consider additional physical security such as steering locks and immobilisers.

If you see anyone acting suspiciously around a vehicle, please report this to South Wales Police straight away.
